PlayStation 5 hardware specs have been confirmed. Rumors about PS5 having 13 TF power were wrong. According to the PlayStation official conference, PS5 has 10.28 TF power. Such amount of teraflops makes it less powerful than Xbox Series X in terms of raw power. Regardless of how much raw power PS5 offers, the caliber of its hardware cannot be denied. A console is not just about raw power because every part of a console is made to play games. A PC with the same amount of power as a console cannot run games at the same graphics and FPS. The motherboard, CPU, GPU, ram, hard drive, and every other part is made for video games. PlayStation 5 hardware specs are no different. The full details of PS5 GPU are still a mystery but in terms of sheer power PlayStation 5 hardware specs are mediocre but all of its hardware is top-notch. The most important addition is the custom SSD that could be the best storage device in any console. The best thing about PS5 storage is that it can be increased with any compatible SSD. You don’t have to use PlayStation’s SSD like Series X’s extension card to increase storage.  Sony is giving freedom to PS5 players to customize it as they see fit. Reducing loading time and keeping up with the limitation of hard disc won’t be a problem for developers. The inclusion of SSD will not only improve loading time but game performance as well.

You don’t have to worry about the installation of game time anymore. In the current-gen consoles, installation takes lots of time and no matter how fast your internet is, you can’t make installation faster. Even if you use SSD with PS4 the installation will still take time, the time will be less but it still won’t be close to the time of next-gen console. The 3D sound system of PS5 will use hundreds of sounds to provide an immersive experience. You will be able to differentiate every sound in the game and know the exact source of the game.

With the current-gen console, players have to guess the location of enemies based on what they hear from two sound sources, left and right. That won’t be the case with PS5, because sounds will surround players so they will know the exact source of sounds. 3D sound will make sounds even more important in competitive gaming. Just imagine the scenario in a game like Call of Duty Warzone or Hunt: Showdown.

Tempest Engine and HRTF

The combination of all its hardware will deliver the best performance and quality. We haven’t seen the console in action so it’s not certain how much of an improvement it will be. The price will be a major factor to show the wroth of PlayStation 5. Sony will gradually reveal more about the console this year because right now we haven’t even seen the design of the console.
