Xbox Series X Initial Specs Are Giving Us Vague Idea of its Power

Xbox Series x initial specs have been revealed. Although, the revealed specs of the console are not actual specs but rather a vague idea regarding the power of the console. This might seem a little vague but according to the current information, Xbox Series X will have 12 Teraflops of power. 12 teraflops will make it 2 times stronger than Xbox One X, which is the most powerful current-gen console. Supposedly the CPU of Xbox Series X will be 4 times more powerful than One X. At this point, many of the Series X specs are not exact but the idea of its power is evident.

Xbox Series X Initial Specs is Providing 12 Teraflops of Power

According to the new details Xbox Series X will be pumping 12 Teraflops of power. This amount of power will give it high graphical power. As per Phil Spencer, Series X will be able to run games at 8K. It will also run games at 4K 60FPS and 1080 at 120 FPS. Sony said the same about their next-gen console. The promise of resolution by PS5 and Xbox Series is pretty intense, to say the least. Now that we know more details about the specs of Series X, the claim is clear. Then again these are Xbox Series X initial specs so things might not go the way it seems. We have seen platforms making promises that they could not keep. Proper utilization of teraflops will decide the power of the console.

Xbox Series X initial specs suggest that it will have hardware-supported DirectX ray tracing which will make everything more realistic. The console will also have a VRR variable refresh rate to provide both quality and performance. Users will be able to use the refresh rate as per the user requirements and desire. The variable refresh rate will give users the ability to control the flow of the game. In a fast pace game or competitive games, the console will keep gameplay seamless. Ray tracing will make everything more realistic. Expect the hair, fur and other aspects of the games to be more realistic. Even the AI of the game will improve with the high amount of power that Xbox Series X initial specs are providing.

Memory and Storage Will Give Us a Huge Leap in Performance

As per the reports, Xbox Series X will feature a 16GB DDR6 ram making it highly sufficient. 16 GB ram might not seem too much but DD6 makes it special. More ram will be available for players than the current-gen console. A quick resume will let players resume games instantly, even in case of power out. Players will also be able to run multiple games, not just a single one. So users don’t have to worry about closing a game just to play another. The console will also use NVMe SSD as a storage device instead of a traditional device. The use of such a storage device will make loading time a thing of the past.

If you are looking forward to using all functionalities of Xbox Series X, then some of you might also need to purchase a new TV. Most of the features such as VRR and high frame rate can only be used with the TV that has HDMI 2.1 and a 120 Hz refresh rate. There might be more expenses involved aside from the console itself.

According to Xbox Series X initial specs, it will be using a Custom AMD Zen 2-based CPU (8x @ 3.6 GHz) and a Custom AMD Navi-based GPU with 12 teraflops power. There will also be a Blu-ray optical drive in the console. Smart delivery is debatable because not only limited games are supported by it but also the system is limited to only two consoles. The grace period in which games transfer from one gen console to another is nearly a year. So, smart delivery is only usable for a year with limited games. This is a good marketing tactic because it will let many current Xbox players stay on the platform.

Verdict

With such high-end hardware, Xbox Series X will no doubly be a powerful console. The Xbox Series X initial specs will also make it an expensive console. It might become the most expensive console to date. As per rumors PS5 will have 9 teraflops power making it cheaper. High teraflops do not necessarily mean high performance but it is always better to have more. The utilization of teraflops will decide its preference. Regardless of what price tag Xbox Series X will have, it is still a powerful console. Let’s just hope that it lives up to the expectations. Microsoft is now more focused on gaming services so the Xbox console is not their only cup of tea anymore.
