A New Avatar Game Is Being Developed by Saber Interactive

It seems like the Avatar will bring the cycle of death and rebirth to the video games. Saber Interactive and Paramount Game Studios have announced a new game based on the fan-favorite animated series Avatar: The Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra. The game will focus on brand brand-new story rather than a story following Aang and Korra. It will be a new story of a “never-before-seen Avatar.” Which seems enticing.

The new Avatar game will be developed for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. The story will take place thousands of years in the past which developers explain as an “unexplored area,”. As per the developer, “Players can expect to be immersed in a vibrant world, master all four elements, and engage in dynamic combat alongside companions,” it will let players experience the ups and downs that come with the responsibility of being an Avatar.

Saber Interactive is the team behind the recent successful game, Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2. As per the press release, the story of the Avatar was made with “close collaboration with Avatar Studios,” It is a part of Nickelodeon Animation Studio that is led by the franchise’s original creator Bryan Konietzko and Michael Dante DiMartino

Avatar adaptation hasn’t always been good. Avatar: The Last Airbender – Quest for Balance game and the Avatar movie are two such examples. The TV series adaptation is doing better and has been renewed for the second season. It will be interesting to see Saber Interactive take on the project.
