One of the interesting games revealed during the State of Play June 2025 is a title from Grasshopper Manufacture called Romeo is a Dead Man. It is an action game that is slated to release in 2026. The trailer shows us the game in third-person action and some fizzy visuals while also showing some story details.
As per the community manager of Grasshopper James Mountain, the game follows the character of Romeo Stargazer. He FBI agent whose life is saved through a space-time paradox which results in him becoming a Dead Man.
The statement from James Mountain reads “Romeo’s search for these space-time fugitives ends up intertwining with his search for his suddenly missing girlfriend, the mysterious Juliet… You’ll just have to play the game to see how (and even if) these mysteries unravel, but after all is said and done (and dead), will Romeo be able to see the tears of time?!” He further states “When the going really gets tough, unleash Bloody Summer – an instant-kill special attack that uses blood accumulated from your enemies – to turn things around and get back on top!”
Romeo is a Dead Man features gameplay that combines swordplay and shooting elements. Romeo shifts between realities as he defeats these space-time fugitives.
The studio Grasshopper Manufacture is known for their work on remakes of Lollipop Chainsaw and Shadows of the Damned. Their previous game was No More Heroes III. The developer will reveal more details about the game in the coming days.
