Age of Mythology: Retold Is the New Remake In the Series

If you were born in the 90s or before that and you are a gamer, chances are that you have played Age of Empires. Now, with Age of Mythology: Retold everyone has a chance to enjoy the series. I know the Age of Mythology was not the most famous in the series. However, if you have not played the game now is your chance. The trailer for the game was revealed during Xbox Games Showcase.

The developers are going beyond what they did for Age of Empire: Definitive Editions. So you can expect way more changes this time around. It’s not only graphics that will be tweaked but population limit and UI are also going to see changes. God Powers can now be triggered multiple times in a single map. Mythical powers won’t be shot automatically but would rather be controlled by players.

The single-player campaign will have quite a bit of a story than just being a generic one. Players will start as an admiral of Atlantis. One thing leads to another and the war starts. There will be some story points similar to the original. Even though its single-player campaign will be good, just don’t expect a story-driven experience.

Age of Mythology: Retold is not a historical tale but rather a fictional tale. Age of Mythology was the first game in the series that was based on fantastical ideas. I hope this time the developers do justice to what the original was entitled to.

Age of Mythology: Retold will be available on 4 September on both Steam and Game Pass. You can also get the premium addition if you shell out some extra coins which unfortunately is the norm these days.
