Fawzi Mesmar is the new creative director of Beyond Good and Evil 2 which was announced via a LinkedIn post.
His exact statement reads “Today I’m glad to share that I joined Beyond Good & Evil 2 as Creative Director. I have been working with those peeps for years now on this ambitious game and witnessed their talent firsthand,” he further continues “I am standing on the shoulders of creative giants that have supported the team before me, and I look forward to continuing to craft a game that is truly unique for players to enjoy.”
Fawzi Mesmar is taking the role of the previous creative director Emile Morel who passed away last year. Emile Morel became part of the project in 2008. The project has seen many shifts over the years of its development. This change makes one think clear, Beyond Good and Evil 2 is alive and kicking.
A lot of people are waiting for the release of Beyond Good and Evil 2. In a lot of sense, it feels surreal to know that the game is still in development and not forgotten. It is one of those games that appear from time to time and then disappear.
The Future of Beyond Good and Evil 2
Even if the game does get released there are still some concerns regarding the type of game it is going to be. It was dubbed as a space-faring romp but then was decided to be MMO and now we are not so sure. All we can do is hope for a better game which seems like a far-fetched idea given the recent history of Ubi Soft.
The game has survived so far which makes one thing clear. There is a lot of money involved so Ubi Soft is not going to abandon it. At this point, the game is 16 years old and I hope that we see the release of the game. However, all we can do is wait for more information about the game.
