Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection was announced by Capcom during the Nintendo Direct July 2025 event. The game will be available on Xbox Series X/S, Switch 2, PlayStation 5, and PC in 2026.
This new entry in the RPG series takes players to a world on the brink of destruction. The nations of Vermeil and Azuria are fighting against the growing crystal threat that is slowly overrunning their nations.
Hope reignites with the discovery of a mysterious egg. The egg hatches a Rathalos, a creature believed to be extinct. However, things turn sour when another similar monster also appears from the same egg. The twin Rathalos have the same mark as the legendary twin Skyscale Rathalos. These creatures are seen as usherers of disaster during the civil war that happened 200 years ago. As the land poisons and monsters die, it brings the two nations closer to war.
Players will play as the character of Azuria. Azuria is a character with special powers. He becomes the rider of Rathalos and is the only one in the kingdom. Their job now is to protect monsters, but a major event turns their attention elsewhere, since these events are a threat to the entire world. To deal with the problem, they travel to forbidden lands located in the northern Meridian.
Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection stays close to the tradition of the series by combining RPG elements with monster collection. This is not a traditional Monster Hunter game despite the name. Instead of killing the Monsties, you will form a bond with them.
