With Destiny: Rising, Bungie is bringing Destiny to the mobile platforms. The new shooter will be available on Android and iOS. The mobile game is being developed by NetEase Games, the same company that developed Diablo: Immortal, so there might be some warning signs. The game will be free to play and will surely be full of microtransactions.
Destiny: Rising is set on a timeline different from the Destiny games. The developers will be bringing both new faces and familiar characters. The game takes place after the Dark Age. Players will land in the world after the collapse as humanity recovers from this devastating event.
Destiny is a first-person shooter with some weapons shifting you to 3rd person perspective. In Destiny: Rising players will have the option to play the game in both first-person and 3rd person. The new spin-off will have both PvE and PvP modes and will bring new modes while also keeping some from the Destiny games.
In the month of August Bungie laid off 220 employees even though Final Shape, which is their latest expansion, was a success. Despite that, the company has released a roadmap that detailed future plans for Destiny 2.
You can sign up for the game right now. The closed alpha for the game will start next month. There is no official release date for the game yet.
