Hell is Us is the upcoming souls-like from the developer Rogue Factor publisher Nacon, The developers got a new gameplay trailer for their upcoming open-world souls-like game. This latest trailer was released during State of Play in September 2024.
Similar to the Elden Ring, Hell is Us will let players guide them through instinct on their journey as they progress. The game will not have any maps, quest markers, and compasses. Players have to experience all that the game has to offer firsthand.
Creative Director and Art Director of Rogue Factor Jacques-Belletête states on The PlayStation’s blog post “Instead, we invite you to dive directly into the game’s universe and rely on your own observation, reasoning, and intuition to progress,” Jacques-Belletête further continues “The environments are not there simply to decorate, they are there to communicate. Correspondingly, paying attention to what the NPCs tell you is crucial; as what they tell you is actual organic information about what to do and how to do it.”
The game takes place in a country that has been decimated by civil war. A catastrophe triggers a chain of events that results in the emergence of supernatural creatures that no modern weapon can stand against. Players will have to take down these creatures armed with nothing but a drone and a sword. It is up to you to take down these creatures and find out how these creatures arrived in the first place. Based on what we can see, it reminds me of Death Stranding.
The game was originally planned to be released in 2023. The game is currently in development and set to release for Xbox Series X/S, PC, and PlayStation 5 in 2025.
