The developer Rogue Factor has given us a new look at Hell Is Us during the Nacon Connect, which has highlighted the investigation mechanics. It provides players with a semi-open world setting with not many quest markers and focuses on an organic approach to exploration.
The game follows the character of Rémi, who is a peacekeeper and has gone AWOL while returning to a place called Hadea to find his parents. The Civil War is ravaging the land and creatures called Hollow Walkers have appeared, that need to be taken down. In the beginning, he will have limited clues but as the game progresses and you note down clues, talk to NPCs, and piece stuff together, things start to make sense.
On his quest to find his parents, he will come across different characters who will point him in different directions. He will also come across some ancient monuments during his search for his parents.
There will also be side activities such as investigations and hidden areas with their own story. As per the creative director of the game, Jonathan Jacques-Belletête, there will be a lot of mysteries to uncover.
Hell Is Us is releasing on September 4, 2025, for PlayStation 5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S.
