Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra Is Being Delayed

Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra is being delayed, which was announced by Skydance, stating “taking the additional time to add more polish”, and further emphasized “exciting things in store”, which could mean the release of a gameplay trailer in the future.

There is not much information regarding the game other than the cinematic story trailer that it received in early 2024. The studio is being led by Amy Hennig who is known for the Uncharted series. Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra will be following the story inspired by Captain America / Black Panther: Flags of Our Fathers which is a limited series by Marvel Comics.

The game takes place in World War 2 in occupied Paris. Captain America makes an uneasy alliance with the Black Panther and Azzuri to take down the villainous organization called Hydra. There is also a Wakandan spy named Nanali and a member of Howling Commandos, Gabriel Jones, aiding them on the quest.

The game was originally set to release in fall 2025 but now it has been delayed to 2026. It is the first big project of Skydance New Media. It is described as “a narrative-driven, action-adventure game” that is being developed in collaboration with Marvel Games.

Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra has the potential to become a splash single-player hit, but the eventual release will decide how good it is. I just hope that no live service element is added; we have enough of those.
