RuneScape: Dragonwilds Is the New Survival MMO

RuneScape is a long-lived game, and its developer, Jagex, has now announced a new spinoff game called RuneScape: Dragonwilds. It will be an open-world survival game that will have crafting elements similar to Minecraft, Ark, and Valheim.

The game is set to launch in early access in spring 2025. It takes place in the same fantasy world as the 2001 game. This time around, it is being developed in Unreal Engine 5, making it quite a treat for the eyes.

RuneScape: Dragonwilds can be played both solo and in co-op with up to three friends. It will have all the survival stuff like building houses, crafting recipes, cutting trees, unlocking new skills, gathering material, fighting off enemies, and stuff like that. The game emphasizes the use of magic, which is called Anima and can be used to fight as well as complete different tasks.

The game takes place on a continent called Ashenfall, which is a continent in the game’s world, Gielinor, that has remained unexplored. Dragons are ravaging the land, and the ultimate goal of the player is to eliminate the queen of dragons.

RuneScape has an interesting success story because it started as a browser game and didn’t get a client till 2016. Now that the game has existed for more than two decades, it has assimilated a fan base. A majority of the fans play the original version of the game for nostalgia. The end result could be a banger that players will play for hours.
