Silent Hill 2 Remake of the developer Bloober Team is coming out this October. Now, the developers have revealed some interesting things about games on social media. As per the updates, players will have the option to turn off their UI for a more immersive experience. Players will also have the option to turn on the 90s filter that adds film grains, do color correction, and change other on-screen effects.
These two modes combine to capture the aesthetic of the original game. Fog and copious film grain are Silent Hill’s identity. The original game had no UI, not even a health bar. The game was released in 2001 so the 90s filter name is kind of wrong in a sense.
The game has gotten a varied response from horror games fans with different players having different perspectives toward the game. Some players have shown their concern regarding the direction of the game.
Despite all the negatives and positives, one thing is certain, Silent Hill 2 Remake will make some players happy. Developers just won’t screw up such a good opportunity.
In the end, it will be fans who will decide the fate of the game when the game gets released on October 8. In the meantime players can keep themselves busy with Astro Bot and Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2. That’s all we have for now, stay tuned for more.
