Square Enix Development Shows Progress of Kingdom Hearts 4 With New Screenshots

Square Enix has given us an update on Kingdom Hearts 4, which was accompanied by screenshots that were posted on the X accounts of Kingdom Hearts.

The picture posted featured both action and cinematics. It shows the main protagonist of the game, Sora, in the battle. Other visuals include cutscenes of enemy encounters and Mickey Mouse, which seems like it might be a playable character.

The post also included more information from the developers, which states, “We’re currently working hard on Kingdom Hearts IV and will continue pouring ourselves into the game’s development. We’re dedicated to making this an experience that lives up to your expectations.” The new post further clarified, “We are equally excited and can’t wait to share more about Kingdom Hearts IV when the time is right. Until then, we appreciate your patience.”

Originally revealed in April 2022, the game saw the release of the trailer on the 20th anniversary of the franchise. There hasn’t been much information regarding the game.

Director and series creator of the game, Tetsuya Nomura, clarified that Kingdom Hearts 4 acts as a follow-up to Kingdom Hearts 3. Kingdom Hearts 3 was released in 2019, and it garnered acclaim from both fans and critics. There is no release date for the game yet, so we’re going to have to wait a while.
