Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl Has Been Delayed Once Again

The long journey to the launch of Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl has been extended once again. The new delay has pushed the game’s release to November 20. Developers of Stalker 2 (GSC Game World) are confident that they can hit the mark and release the game on time.

The CEO of GSC Game World Yevhen Grygorovych stated “We know you might be tired of waiting, and we truly appreciate your patience,”

He further adds “These two additional months will give us the chance to fix more ‘unexpected anomalies’ (or simply ‘bugs’, as you call them). We are always grateful for your ongoing support and understanding—it means the world to us. We’re just as eager as you are to finally release the game and for you to experience it for yourself.”

The reason for this delay is the same as the previous one as per GSC Game World “It absolutely felt and played like a Stalker game, on the technical side of things, the game apparently needed more time in the oven.”

Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl is Important

The original Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl was announced back in 2010 but most of it was scrapped in the year 2011. This new version of the game has been in development since the year 2018. The development of the game stopped due to Russia’s Invasion of Ukraine. Later on, after a couple of months, the work on the game started but the invasion had a major impact on the development since GSC Game World is a Ukrainian developer.

When you think about the developer of the game being a Ukrainian, a country at war is able to continue and create games is a feat in itself. Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl is an ambitious project because it is a continuation of a game that has inspired others. The world Stalker holds great meaning so developers are trying to deliver the best experience which is also the reason for the delay.
