The Zelda movie is set to release in May 2027, which is part of the game adaptations that we have been seeing for the past few years.
The cast for the Zelda movie has been released. Benjamin Evan Ainsworth will play Link, and Bo Bragason will play Princess Zelda. Link is an elf warrior who has to go through a fantasy world full of monsters. Shigeru Miyamoto is a co-producer of Super Mario and created the Zelda universe. It is one of Nintendo’s most powerful titles, and the franchise has sold more than 140 million copies. The last Zelda game, called The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, was released back in 2024. It was the first time that Zelda had gone into battle rather than being just someone to be saved.
Benjamin Evan Ainsworth is a British actor who has voiced the character of Pinacio in the 2022 Pinacio movie, while Bo Bragason is known for the series Renegade Nell. Before this announcement, there were speculations that the trans actress Hunter Schafer would play the role of Zelda. She is best known for her role in the TV Series Euphoria.
Wes Ball will be directing the movie, who is best known for the Maze Runner trilogy. The Zelda series was first adapted into an animated series, but this is the first time that the series is getting a movie.
Elden Ring and The Sims movies are also in development. The adaptation of video games into movies is becoming a major business since The Super Mario Bros. movie became the second highest-grossing movie of 2023.
