The Sequel to Splitgate is Set to Launch in 2025

Splitgate is a free-to-play multiplayer first-person shooter that went into early access in 2019. If you are a fan of Halo and Portal, chances are that you will like Splitgate as well because it combines the elements of the two games. After the release of Spligate, Splitgate 2 is in the works. The CEO of 1047 Games Ian Proulx, the creator of the first game confirmed on PlayStation Blog the sequel will be coming for PS5, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.

As per Ian Proulx, “We had to start fresh, in some ways,” he further added. “That meant building from the ground up in Unreal Engine 5, with completely new character models, new maps, new weapons, and even new portal walls and portals.”

A new trailer revealed footage from the game which gives us a rough idea of what to expect from the game.

Ian Proulx further states “One of the reasons we wanted to make Splitgate 2 in Unreal Engine 5 is to make sure we have some seriously sick character skins and weapons,” he further continues. “That goes for the free base skins and weapons too, which I made certain to look better than anything in our first game.” More information regarding the sequel will be provided in August.

The first Splitgate has Halo-inspired, futuristic combat, and players have the ability to travel through portals similar to how it works in the Portal games. It will be good to see what they add to the Splitgate 2 since the first one didn’t do well.
