After 31 years, developer Monolith Productions has been shut down, and the previously announced Wonder Woman game has been canceled. The game reportedly cost more than $100 million, and last year, it was rebooted. Monolith Productions was known for games like the Middle-Earth duology, F.E.A.R., and Blood.
Wonder Woman game was announced in 2021 at The Game Awards, but there were not many details regarding the project. Most of the information regarding the game came from leaks and job listings. There were even reports that the game had live-service aspects.
As per the Bloomberg report, the development of the game would have cost $100 million, and there wouldn’t be many results. Even if the game was in development, it would still take quite a few years before the release. Now that the game has been canceled, WB Games can focus on their other IPs. Maybe another Batman game? But that’s just a wishful thinking at this point.
