Xbox Game Pass is a subscription service that lets console and PC gamers play hundreds of games for monthly charges. Xbox’s competitor, PlayStation is doing the same thing but it does not release games day-one on their platform. Both of these services can be called Netflix for Video Games. Rather than streaming games, players can download these games that can be played on their respective platforms.
There are more than 34 million Game Pass subscribers around the world. With the new price hikes, all of these subscribers will have to pay more to keep using the service.
The New Princes of Xbox Game Pass in the US:
Game Pass Ultimate: Monthly will go up from $16.99 to $19.99.
PC Game Pass: Monthly will go up from $9.99 to $11.99

The charges will immediately apply to new subscribers of the service. The existing members will be charged with these new charges in September.
Players who have the basic subscription will be able to keep their subscription till it expires.
Players who have subscribed to the basic tier will have access to a lot of games but it does not include day-one releases and some other games are not included in it. Microsoft has already announced that some games that are available on Game Pass Ultimate on day one might be added to the basic subscription.
With these price changes, the high-tier Game Pass is now More expensive than PS Plus Premium which is PlayStation’s highest-tier subscription. However, the day-one game releases give Xbox Game Pass more value.
The increase in price and pushing players towards the expensive version of Xbox Game Pass is attributed to the release of Call of Duty games on day one on the console.
