It was announced that Alan Wake 2 will be expanded with two different expansions. One of these expansions was Night Springs which launched in June 2024. Now at the September 2024 State of Play, a new DLC called The Lake House was announced. Alan Wake 2Â The Lake House expansion will be arriving in October though there is no exact release date yet.
After the three mini Night Springs episodes, players will be able to play the full-fledged expansion. The announcement was accompanied by a one-minute trailer.
In the trailer, we get to hear the voice of the Federal Bureau of Control (FBC) agent Kiran Estevez who will be portrayed by Janina Gavankar. Later on in the trailer, we see The Lake House which is a FBC facility. A serious event has taken place at The Lake House. Experiments at the facility have resulted in the collision of reality with the Dark Place.
Alan Wake 2 The Lake House can play an important part in making the Alan Wake experience even better. It is a major connection between Alan Wake 2 and Control which works out for both game series.
From what we can see in the trailer it seems like this new DLC can be the darkest the game has gotten. The pre-Halloween launch date of the game sits quite well with what it is providing.
What We See In The Trailer
The trailer is narrated by the voice of a special agent Kiran Estevez which suggests that players might be getting a new playable character. Things get quite weird with Alan Wake 2 and its DLCs so we can’t say with certainty whether Kiran Estevez will be a playable character or not. The Night Springs expansion got pretty weird which makes it even stranger.
The interesting thing is that the expansions for Alan Wake 2 are only available in bundles so you can’t just buy a single expansion. You can either get it through the Deluxe edition of the game or get the Deluxe Edition upgrade if you already own the game.
