The creators of Control, Remedy Entertainment have shown their new co-op game called FBC: Firebreak. It takes place in the Control Universe. After being in development for a long time, the game will finally give the fans an interesting three-player co-op experience. The game will let players fight against waves of enemies by using different weapons. A wide variety of weapons are available to use ranging from Gatling guns to pistons that enable you to launch in the air and attack from above.
The game takes place in the same universe as Alan Wake and Control so a lot of it will be familiar to players who have played these games. FBC: Firebreak only shares the universe with Control and does not act as a sequel to either of the two games. It is a spin-off with a different story and gameplay.
The director of FBC: Firebreak Mike Kayatta explains the game as “I guess you could say that it’s a spin-off, but in the most positive sense of the word. It’s not designed to be some lesser, bite-sized Control. FBC: Firebreak is its own, fully formed thing.” The statement makes it clear that the game is an original idea that acts as a stand-alone experience.
In the World of Control
A lot of fans have been waiting for more details about FBC: Firebreak ever since the developers teased it back in 2024. The project has been changed to a great degree which shows the commitment of Remedy to providing a good experience.
There was even a cancellation of a co-op project with Tencent known as Vanguard. It was supposed to be a free-to-play game but it was cancelled in 2023.
The developers are focused on delivering an exciting experience in the year 2025. The game is set to release for PC, Xbox Series X/S, and PlayStation 5. FBC: Firebreak will be available at launch for both Xbox Game Pass and PlayStation Extra/Premium.
It will be interesting to see the CO-OP experience that the game will offer in the world of Control.
