Blood Message, Single Player, Story-Driven, Game Has Been Announced

The developers behind Naraka: Bladepoint, 24 Entertainment, have announced their next game, Blood Message. It is a single-player action-adventure story-driven game. The new trailer shows stunning sequences from the game.

The statement from the head of the game states, “We are ushering players into a new generation of high adventure with Blood Message. As our first completely single-player focused experience from NetEase Games, after two decades of deep dedication to the gaming industry, we are prepared to deliver a truly epic and cinematic experience for players around the world.”

Blood Message takes place during the last years of the Tang dynasty. Players will play as a messenger who is part of the Dunhuang uprising. Players now have to travel thousands of miles to Chang’an, which is a central part of the Tang Empire.

To get there, players must go through different landscapes that range from harsh deserts to vast wilderness. Along the way, they would need to survive sieges, harsh environments, and against all odds that stand in their path.

It does not put players in the shoes of a general or important figure, but rather an ordinary person with strong resolve. As the duo of son and father travel through the war-torn land, love for their family and their duty to their country will be put to the test.

The Ordinary Becomes Extraordinary

24 Entertainment has mentioned that there are enough stories about generals and emperors, so it’s about time for the story of an ordinary person. As per the developer of the game, Blood Message is a story-driven, linear game with glorified cinematic storytelling.

Developers are stating that it will be an emotional roller coaster that will explore topics like sacrifice, honor, cultural identity, and family. Players will journey across the diverse landscape of Central and East Asia.

The game is being developed on Unreal Engine 5. It is set to release on PC and consoles. There is no release date for the game just yet.

It is another game from China, and if things go well, we might as well see another Black Myth: Wukong in the making.
