Virtua Fighter is getting revived and we finally have the confirmation regarding the comeback of the series. The series has been out of action for quite a while and now SEGA’s Justin Scarpone has confirmed the comeback of the series through his casual remarks regarding the game.
No details for the game were provided as the only piece of information was casual acknowledgment. It is also worth noting that SEGA’s other franchises like Set Radio and Shinobi are making a comeback through games, movies, and series.
The news of Virtua Fighter’s revival is not as big of a reveal. It was expected since SEGA bought the franchise back with the release of Virtua Fighter 5 Ultimate Showdown so it was bound to get resurrected. Virtua Fighter 5 Ultimate Showdown is an enhanced version of the series’s sixth game and was released in 2021 for PlayStation. The re-release went beyond the expectations of the publisher.
The rumors regarding the release of a reboot or a new game in the series were already in the air which has come to fruition with these new revelations.
