During Gamescom 2024, the developer Funcom released a new gameplay trailer for the open-world survival MMO Dune: Awakening. In the trailer, we see what the game has to offer from survival to scavenging to hunting down spice along with your guild. The developers also revealed that the game will be released on PC in early 2025 and will be released on console at a later date.
Dune: Awakening takes players to the dangerous and treacherous planet of Arrakis. Players will have to survive the intense heat of the desert as well as sandworms. Survival is not the only thing that a player will do. Players would need to expand their influence on the planet through combat, controlling spice flow, and building basses.
The developers of Dune: Awakening Funcom have worked with Legendary Entertainment and Herbert Estate to develop an alternate universe in which Paul Atreides doesn’t exist. Such an approach creates a universe where players can make their own future on Arrakis.
