Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater Gets New Gameplay Trailer

We got a new trailer for Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater during State of Play before the game’s eventual release in August.

The game is being released on Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC on August 28, 2025. It is a remake of 2004’s classic. The characters, story, gameplay, music, and voice acting are back but with the latest graphics, it will also have 3rd audio for more immersion.

Battle damage has also been added to the game. It means that bruises, bullet wounds you receive, and wear and tear of clothes will be visible. Injuries you receive will leave permanent marks on the snake’s body. The combination of these elements results in a distinct experience for each player.

The game takes place during the Cold War when a man called Naked Snake who would later become Big Boss is given the mission to infiltrate deep into the Soviet Union to escort a scientist known as Nikolai Stepanovich Sokolov who has defected. Things go sideways when The Boss who is the mentor of Naked Snake betrays him which results in the capture of Nikolai Stepanovich Sokolov. Snake must now stop his mentor The Boss and the people responsible for the capture.

A new control scheme has been added to the game that lets you play Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater more immersively. You can also choose the classic control scheme for a more familiar experience. The game capitalizes on the ideas of the original.
