Nintendo showcased the first look at the Nintendo Switch 2 through a video posted on YouTube. The successor to the fan-favorite Nintendo Switch will be called Switch 2. This time, Nintendo has gone with straightforward naming. The name continues the design and philosophy that started with the Switch.
Multiple changes were showcased in the video. For starters, Switch 2 is bigger than Switch 1 with a bigger display and has some noticeable bezels across the sides of the screens. Joy-Con controllers have also seen a major redesign. They are rounder, larger and now attach to the side of the console magnetically.
Nintendo Switch 2 is visibly different than its predecessor with more subdue colors rather than a colorful look. The console is black with some accent coloring around the magnetic side and top side of the Joy-Cons.
Similar to the original Switch, the new console will also support TV docking which will allow players to use the Joy-Cons on a separate controller through a grip. The kickstand is back with a new design and it seems sturdier which results in more stable positioning. The console also features USB-C which is a big improvement and will make the charging more convenient.
Support and Hardware
The new Switch will support games from the previous Switch. Both digital games and physical cartridges from the previous Switch will be compatible. Switch 2 is expected to have more powerful and better hardware which will enable it to run more demanding games. There is no proper information regarding the specifications of the console.
No Pricing has yet been announced for the console. Nintendo will reveal more about the game during their upcoming Nintendo Direct. So you are going to need to wait for a while to get more information regarding the game.
