Reportedly, There Was a Cancelled Moon DLC for Cyberpunk 2077

New leaks have revealed a canceled Cyberpunk 2077 DLC. Cyberpunk launched in 2020 and was criticized for its buggy nature and severe performance issues. These issues had a huge impact on all of its post-launch stuff. CD Projekt Red had to work on stabilizing the base game. Due to the focus on stabilization, a lot of stuff was pushed back to later dates.
After many patches and upgrades, the game was fixed. 2.0 update that overhauled the gameplay and fixed many of the issues that were plaguing. Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty DLC was released in 2023. It introduces a new area called Dogtown along with a new storyline.
Now, multiple images are circling on social media of an unnamed Cyperpunk 2077 DLC on the Moon. As per the reports, the expansion has been canceled. The images circulating include concept art, file repositories, blueprints, and map-based data. It reveals that the Moon-based expansion could have been the first DLC outside the Night City.
Moon holds significance in Cyperpunk 2077 lore. The two big corporations of the game Arasaka & Militech have mining operations there. There are even two cities on the Moon. There are mentions of the Moon throughout the game. So it was logical that a Moon-based DLC was planned for Cyberpunk 2077

Moon In the Lore

Cyberpunk Edgerunners anime has a lot of moon-related discussions. Throughout the series, the two characters share their dream of living on the moon. The one-way ticket for Moon is expensive making it difficult for many to attain it.
CD Projekt Red has already confirmed that Phantom Liberty will be the only DLC for Cyberpunk 2077. The chances of visiting the Moon in Cyberpunk 2077 won’t come to fruition. However, there is a chance that we will get to visit Moon in the sequel.
