The Witcher 4 game has been in development for quite some. The developers of The Witcher series are working on different projects including the Cyperpunk 2077 sequel which isn’t even in development yet. However, the developers have confirmed that the initial work has started on the game.
Along with the Cyberpunk 2077 sequel, more than one Witcher game is in the works. Project Sirius and Project Canis Majoris are part of the games in development. The developers have been quiet about the two projects. The biggest project that everyone is waiting for is Polaris which is The Witcher 4.
The Witcher 4 game will be entering production later in 2024. With multiple projects on the way, there are questions regarding the priority of the projects. However, according to the director of CD Projekt Red Pawel Sasko, The Witcher 4 is the next big game for CD Projekt Red.
As per Pawel Sasko, most of their projects are in the early stages. He further stated that these projects are coming though they won’t have anything to show for a while. So fans should be patient. Sasko reinstated that The Witcher 4 game will be in production soon. He said “The only difference is the Polaris project, so the new Witcher saga, that will enter production. That is the most advanced of all of those.”
The Next Witcher
It is not a surprise since back in May, CD Projekt Red gave us an update regarding different projects that the staff was working on. Among the team, 407 staff members were working on Polaris, also known as The Witcher 4 as of April 2024.
The Molasses Flood the team behind Project Sirius is working on a direct sequel of Cyberpunk 2077 in their new Boston-base studio. All of this comes down to the one simple fact, it will take some time before we see anything solid from CD Projekt Red.
