The Witcher 4 New Gameplay Looks Stunning

During the State of Unreal 2025, CD Projekt Red revealed a new tech demo for The Witcher 4. It showed amazing graphics, Nanite-powered foliage, and extensive world design. The combination of these elements has a major impact on the realism of the environment.

The video begins with a carriage being attacked by flying monsters. The transition in gameplay is seamless and moves to Ciri analyzing the site of the incident. Visuals at display set the game apart from other games and can be called the first true next-gen after GTA 6.

The developers have confirmed that the game was running on a base PS5.

The Witcher 4 also introduces us to Ciri’s horse, Kelpie. Upgraded physics are in full swing when riding the horse. The horse’s body moves per the weight. Muscle moves in regard to the way the horse is moving.

We then see the camera going back and showcasing the surrounding environment. The Nanite foliage feature of Unreal Engine results in high-density rendering of trees, and plants. There are realistic details and the technology enables unlimited draw distance.

Ciri then arrives at a lively port town and that’s when the responsiveness of the world is put on display. As Cirir passes by townsfolks she bumps into one of them which results in a few apples dropping from the crate in its hand. Details like tossing coins to beggars and other such stuff add to the immersion.

The Witcher Projects

There is no release date for The Witcher 4 just yet but it is confirmed to be the first game in the new trilogy. It is among the three Witcher projects currently in the works with the remaining two being a full remake of the 2007 original Witcher and a multiplayer-focused Witcher codenamed Sirius. Things are bound to be different for better or worse because it will take a while for the game to release.
