343 Industries Will Not Be Developing Future Halo Games

The developer of the Halo Series 343 Industries will not be developing Halo games anymore. They will not be directly involved in the development of more games in the series but would rather supervise the development of future Halo games. As per reports, Microsoft is not sure of the 343 Industries caliber for the development of future games in the series.

According to the reports and based on the information received from current as well as former 343 Industries employees, there were lots of layoffs to downsize the studio. The cuts also included the internal marketing and internal communication teams. Microsoft is now handling the marketing and internal communication.

Since Microsoft is unsure of 343 Industries caliber to do a good job of developing the next game, another studio will take the reign of the series. 343 Industries will only focus on preproduction phases, concept phases, and supervising the development of future games. As per reports, two new Halo games are in preproduction phase. One of them is a multiplayer game while another is a single-player game which is most probably Halo Combat Evolved. The multiplayer game could be the multiplayer mode of the next mainline entry of the Halo game.

Even though Halo Infinite did well, it still did not meet the target that Microsoft set up for it. It is the reason that only Forge Mode will continue to receive the support. The rest of the modes will only get the content that is already in development and that will be it. Even though Halo Infinite is considered a failure by Microsoft it is still a good entry into the series. The Halo Live Action series has also been canceled. We are getting these two major developments at the same time.
