Bethesda is working on a new DOOM game. There have been hits of it here and there. Now it seems like it could be sooner than we expected. A new trademark was filed with the name IDKFA which is a reference to the game.
When combined with the previous lead, it’s pretty evident that preparations are being made for a new DOOM.
It could be DOOM Year Zero which is kind of a generic topic. The name of the new game in the series could be completely different. I wonder what that is going to be about. Maybe it will be a throwback to the original DOOM.
DOOM Eternal was the Last mainline DOOM game that was released back in the year 2020. We have not gotten another main-line DOOM.
It should also be noted that Bethesda was acquired by Microsoft when they bought ZeniMax which is the parent company of Bethesda. So any game the developers make now will be the property of Microsoft. The new DOOM could be Xbox exclusive and the possibility of it is really high. We have already seen it with the console-exclusive release of Starfield.
Using the IP as leverage was the main reason for the purchase of ZeniMax. Its fate is unclear like the new Elder Scroll game.
