Avowed is The New Action RPG

Avowed is the upcoming action RPG that takes place in Living Lands which is part of the world called Eora. The game can be played in both first-person and third-person perspectives. It is being developed by Obsidian Entertainment and is published by Xbox Game Studio.

Avowed takes place in the same universe as Pillars of Eternity. Obsidian Entertainment is no stranger to RPGs. They are the developers of some of the best RPG games. Namely Outer World and Fallout Las Vegas. Fallout Las Vegas is one of the best RPG games so we can be sure that the game is in good hands.

While exploring the world, players will meet different characters. Meeting these new characters will not only give missions but some of them can help players as companions. Players will get loot and go around the mission, it’s just simple RPG stuff.

It’s interesting to see how the game handles magic, There are a lot of colorful splashes when players are using magic or abilities. From casting spells to embedding weapons with magic, all of it seems good. Different spells can be used along with the weapon to do hybrid damage.

Based on what we can see in the trailer, it seems like the player is on a mission to rid the world of some sort of disease. This disease is mutating both human and nonhuman beings. Of course, mutants are not the only ones you will be fighting as there is more depth to the game.

The Final Product

The game reminds me a lot about Elder Scroll and Fallout. Elder Scroll seems to be missing from the Xbox Games Showcase, I hope we get something about it soon. I am also not certain that the final product will be just as good as what is being shown in the trailers.
