A State of Play has shown us 20 minutes of gameplay for the Borderlands 4. The gameplay revealed missions, enemies, skills, combat, and weapons. The entire gameplay that was shown was running on a PS5 Pro.
The game takes place on a planet called Kairos and it brings an interesting premise. There is a new bad guy in town called Timekeeper who has kept the planet a secret for a long time. Timekeepers have been controlling inhabitants of the planet with implants called Bolts. He also has an army called the Order and they are made up of Synths.
Like previous games in the series, players will take control of Vault Hunters which is also part of the demo being shown.
There are four new Vault Hunters this time around, which include Vex, Rafa, Harlowe, and Amon. The new weapon manufacturers include Order, Ripper, and Daedalus. There is a Licensed Parts system that will enable players to combine elements of two weapons into one.
Borderlands 4 is a looter shooter co-op experience. The dynamic scaling and difficulty selection keep the game fresh making the campaign and end game a good experience.
The game is set to release on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. The original release date for it was September 23, 2025, but now it has been moved to September 12, 2025. A decision that resulted in the delay of GTA VI since both games have the same parent publisher.
