Dying Light: The Beast is The Upcoming Dying Light Game

Techland the developers of Dying Light gave us a surprise at Gamescom by announcing Dying Light: The Beast. The game started out as a DLC but eventually turned into a standalone game. It features the protagonist of the first game Kyle Crane.

Dying Light: The Beast takes place 13 years after the events of the first game. Kyle Crane now has superhuman abilities due to the virus in his body.  The game takes place in Castor Woods which is a brand new location. The length of the story is nearly 18 hours. Just like previous games in the series, Light: The Beast has a 4-player co-op so you can run and gun with your friend.

The game will be free for players but only if they own Dying Light 2: Stay Ultimate Edition. It will be released as a free content update for such players. The next major update before Dying Light: The Beast will also bring a new DLC to the game which will be called Bloody Ties.

The announcement of the new game does not mean that the developers will abandon Dying Light 2. They will keep their promise of providing support till five years post-launch. If you own Dying Light 2  Ultimate Edition then this is a good deal for you.
