Naughty Dog, the developer of Uncharted and The Last of Us is coming back with a new game called Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet. The game was announced during the Game Awards. It takes place in a sci-fi universe.
The trailer shows the character moving around in the spaceship and doing daily chores. It seems like the universe is not that much high-tech as one would expect from a modern sci-fi experience and it is more like the Alien universe. It has old-style tech, CRT-style monitors, and other such stuff.
Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet is being headed by Neil Druckmann who acted as the creative director for both The Last of Us series and Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End. The trailer also shows us a part of the story with the main character being a bounty hunter. The main character is known as Jordan Munn (Tati Gabrielle). We also see a cameo of Kumail Nanjiani. The actor of Joel from The Last of Us games is also reportedly playing a character in the game.
It has been a wild year for Naughty Dog because a lot of us were expecting the developers to make a game from their existing catalog of the studio. Neil Druckmann explained the game as “our wildest, most creative story yet” One of the posts on the Naughty Dog website states that the game has been in development since 2020. The developers have given no information on the release date. It will be interesting to see how the concept of the Heretic Prophet fits into all this.
