Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will Not Be Getting Any Story DLC

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will not be getting any Story DLC so the experience would just need to continue in the next Spider-Man game. The game was released last year and a lot of players including me had an absolute blast with the game. There were some story threads left unfinished which will hopefully be completed in the next Spider-Man game since there won’t be any story DLC for the game.

It was also announced that Spider-Man 2 will be coming to PC. There are no plans for any post-launch content for the game. Jason Espinoza the senior community manager stated on the PlayStation Blog that no additional story content is planned.

The decision is surprising since the first Spider-Man game got three post-launch story DLCs. These side DLCs were focused on the stories of Yuri Watanabe, and Black Cat, it even set up the story for Spider-Man Miles Morales. So, the expectation for story DLC of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 has a legitimate reason.

Another major reason for the speculation of a story DLC is the Insomniac hack from last year. A lot of information spread through the internet with even some rumors of a story DLC or a stand-alone spin-off like Spiderman Miles Morales. Since these hacks, fans have been anticipating that something was bound to pop up even if Insomniac was not indicating anything.

Focus Is Marvel’s Wolverine

The new blog post from PlayStation shows these speculations and rumors were just speculations and rumors. It also shows that Insomniac is fully supporting Marvel’s Wolverine and Spider-Man 2 is not their priority anymore. After the hack, Insomniac promised that they would share more information on the game.

Until the release of Wolverine, Insomniac is focusing on the eventual release of the game so Spider-Man fans have to wait until they are done with Wolverine.
