The original Screamer was released in the 90s which was followed by a sequel and then it all went silent. The anime-style racing game is coming back with the new game known as Screamer. So, in a sense, it is a reboot of the series.
The trailer doesn’t have any in-game footage and limited information for the game is available on its official website. The only relation it has with the original game is Milestone Games which is the developer of the game. Milestone Games is an Italian developer who made the first two games. They are known for their most recent Hot Wheels Unleashed and the sequel.
It has been a long time since the original game so fraternizing over the game’s new direction shouldn’t be an issue. Not a lot of fans would want to continue from where the last game left off, it’s been a long time. There is not much from the original two games that will feel important presently. You can get Screamer 1 and Screamer 2 on Steam. I wouldn’t suggest it since you will be good to go just by watching a few-minute video on YouTube about the series.
