Death Stranding garnered success and even got some cult following so a sequel for the game was bound to happen which brings us to Death Stranding 2: On the Beach. During SXSW, several announcements were made by Hideo Kojima regarding the game.
The announcement that made the biggest splash was the release date reveal for the game. However, the wait is not as painful as that of the first game when it was released back in 2019. It is set to release on June 26, 2025.
A 10+ minute trailer was the central part of the presentation that introduced us to a new story, world, and characters. This time it seems like the narrative is not as linear as it was with Death Stranding. Despite sharing similarities, the game brings huge changes making it vastly different than the first game.
Any good sequel has to go beyond what then the last game which remains true in the case of Death Stranding 2: On the Beach. It turns the dial a notch on all that made us fall in love with the original game. It looks better and grander which is exactly what any gamer would expect from the sequel of Death Stranding.
The ending line of the trailer states “We should not have connected.” Which shows us that there is more to the story than meets the eye.
