A remaster of the classic DOOM and DOOM 2 has been announced. Both games will be combined in a single package.
The new remaster will have 43 deathmatch maps, and 187 mission maps while also having cross-platform multiplayer.
There are various enhancements added to the game, which include New languages, 4K support, and community support through an in-game browser.
The remaster was announced during QuakeCon and was one of the first ones to come out during the convention.
DOOM and DOOM 2 are considered to be one of the most influential games so a remaster of the two games makes sense.
Players that own any of the two games will get a free upgrade. The enhanced version of both is available in a single release on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Nintendo Switch.
Enhancement of DOOM + DOOM II
The remaster is considered to be the biggest effort for the team behind it since it provides a cross-platform deathmatch along with the CO-OP of up to 16 players.
On a side note, DOOM Eternal Was the last mainline game in the series so this one will be the newest release.
The multithreaded rendering, 4K resolution, and 120 FPS gameplay on the new generation is a big development.
The compatibility of the DOOM source code has been added which makes it possible to use the mods that have been created over the course of 25 years.
If you are a DOOM fan then it could be a good experience while we wait for the next DOOM game.
