There were rumors regarding the reveal of Resident Evil 9 and now Capcom has confirmed these rumors. A new entry is the survival horror game is in development. Resident Evil 9 is now official.
According to Koshi Nakanishi, the developer of Resident Evil 7, “It was really difficult to figure out what to do after [Resident Evil 7],” Nakanishi further stated. “But I found it, and to be honest it feels substantial. I can’t share any details just yet, but I hope you’re excited for the day I can.”
Koshi Nakanishi has a history with Resident Evil and is responsible for the introduction of the first-person perspective to the series starting with Resident Evil 7.
Nakanishi was also the director of Resident Evil Mercenaries 3D, a game that was developed for Nintendo 3DS. Along with that, he is also responsible for the first Resident Evil Revelation game. He also acted as a designer for Resident Evil 5.
Throughout this year there were rumors regarding the reveal of Resident Evil 9 but Capcom kept any news regarding Resident Evil 9 a secret. There were also reports that Resident Evil Zero and Code Veronica remakes are in the works. The most recent entry in the series were Resident Evil Village and Resident Evil 4 Remake. Both of these games were well-received by both critics and fans.
