The first details of the Outright Games’s upcoming racing adventure game called Transformers: Galactic Trials have been revealed. The game will be released on October 11, 2024. It will be available on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Nintendo Switch. The game will combine rough-like elements with robotic combat and arcade racing.
The plot of Transformers: Galactic Trials translates to its gameplay. Evil Nemesis steals prime relics. Both the Autobots and Decepticons are set on an adventure to recover what was stolen since these relics have immense power.
Players would be able to play as the iconic characters from both Autobots and Decepticons. There is the option to play as Megatron, Elita-1, Optimus Prime, and Bumblebee among others.
Players will then race through circuits to collect relics and defeat enemies. The gameplay has both racing and combat elements. As a vehicle, players will race and in bot form, players will engage in combat. The main goal is reaching the finish line.
What Developers Have to Say
The managing director of Outright Games Stephanie Malham has this to say about the game:
“It has been a pleasure to continue our collaboration with Hasbro and return to the world of Transformers”, She further continues “With 2024 marking the 40th anniversary of this iconic IP, we are very excited to be releasing the first ever console racing video game in the franchise’s history. With the inclusion of rogue-lite elements, Transformers: Galactic Trials’s gameplay complements the dynamic Transformers robots.”
Transformers: Galactic Trials is a big deal for the company and they would try to deliver it in the best form possible. Unless some development hiccups completely ruin the experience.
The SVP of Digital Strategy and Licensing Eugene Evans of Wizards of the Coast and Hasbro had this to say about the game.
“As Transformers celebrates its 40th year alongside the theatrical premiere of its first fully CG-animated film, Transformers One, we are proud to continue our collaboration with Outright Games to unveil an epic journey that speaks to the enduring legacy of the iconic brand,”
He further adds:
“With immersive gameplay, and a storyline that resonates with fans old and new, Transformers: Galactic Trials is sure to ignite excitement. Through this all-new Transformers racing experience, we continue to expand our digital offerings through strategic licensing and internal development and we can’t wait for Transformers fans to see what else we have in store.”
All of it comes down to the fact that it is a new game and the developers are treating it as a 40th anniversary gift. A lot of things can go wrong if the developer takes it lightly. I just hope that the game gets delivered on its promises.
