Cyberpunk 2077 Night City Wire event shows a lot about the game. To some extent, we know the basic story and how the events are set into motion. It is a role-playing game so the final outcome might be different depending on the choices. There are different gangs in the game with lore that have deep roots in the history of the night city. District 7 (Badlands) was one of the latest revelations. We also got to know a little more about the Night City. There was also information about Ripper docs that will upgrade different body parts of the player’s character.

Cyberpunk Edge Runners was also announced which is an anime series that takes place in the same universe. Cyberpunk 2077 Night City Wire event offers a lot of details but the lengthiest part was the Braindance segment. Apparently, it’s going to be a big part of the gameplay. There would be other mechanics connected to the Braindance as well. The event showcased a lot but we still don’t know enough.

What was Cyberpunk 2077 Night City Wire event About?

Cyberpunk 2077 Night City Wire event is a series of monthly episodic events that will give us insight into the game. Every month a new episode will release that will shed more light on the game. There won’t be any spoilers like just like the first episode. In a sense, it is a series of events, trying to create as much hype about the game as possible.

The premise of the game is also clear to some extent but we are still in the dark. At least we know how the events were set into motion. Everything starts with an immortality chip. Player and his/her friends would try to get immortality chip but things don’t go as planned. The misadventure leads to action and the story of the game starts. The prologue of the game doesn’t reveal any spoilers just like prologues from other games but further events in the game could clarify it.

The World of Cyberpunk 2077

The lore of Cyberpunk 2077 is deep and seems like every gang has a deep history. Their motives can be good or bad but you would still need to make alliances with them. Like any other RPG, these alliances would also depend on the decision a player makes. One such gang is The Mox, it was created by Elizabeth Borden who was a former sex worker and owner of a brothel. She created the gang to protect workers from harassment. After her death, the gang is continuing her work. Motives of The Mox are noble but there might be more to it than meets the eye. There are other gangs as well but we don’t know about them yet. The lore of Cyberpunk 2077 is deep and everything has a deep back story.

Cyberpunk 2077 Night City Wire event also showcases District 7 also known as Badlands. District 7 is a wasteland with little vegetation. Badlands is outside the city walls and it is inhabited by nomads. These nomads live in families and they travel throughout the Badlands in convoys. There would be a lot of gameplay in the Badlands. The missions of Badlands could be both main missions and side missions. Developers are trying to help players explore every part of the map by offering content in it. It is an open-world game so one should expect a lot of exploration.

Cyberpunk Edge Runner anime series is also in the works. The anime series takes place in the same universe. The anime would also take place in Night City which is the same city as the game. However, the city would have a different type of feeling in the anime. There might be similarities but it will expand the world beyond the basic setting. Characters and story will be brand new, making it a different experience. The anime is being made by Studio Trigger which also brought us some of the most amazing anime series such as Kill la Kill, Darling in The Franx, SSSS.Gridman etc. The studio recently brought BNA: Brand New Animal to Netflix. We can be sure that the anime is in great hands.

NPCs Seems To Be Realistic

There were also details regarding some characters in the Cyberpunk 2077 Night City Wire event. Adam Smasher is one such character that is fully made out of automated parts. He is a cyborg who is trying to find his way in the new world. Ripper docs are surgeons that take players close to being a cyborg. They specialize in replacing different kinds of limps with artificial ones. Ripper docs can upgrade every part of a player’s body giving them different abilities. With enough updates, a player can convert his/her character into an absolute powerhouse. Some of the ripper docs are important characters of the story. So they are more than just regular NPCs.

According to the developers, every character regardless of their importance has a background story. They might not reveal it directly but players can guess it from their dialogues. Their surrounding will also tell you about their past and personality. Developers of the game are saying that want to show the back story of characters regardless of their importance. Both environment and dialogues will show the life of a character. There is a great focus on environmental storytelling. It could compete with the environmental storytelling of The Last of Us Part 2.

Braindance is Going To Be A Big Part of The Game

Braindance is a big part of the game and it will serve as one of the main mechanics of the game. We might see decisions being made in the story, based on the Braindance functionality. It is not just a fancy type of mechanics that shows the futuristic setting. From what we know so far, BD (Braindance) is a functionality that lets players experience the memories of another person. The use of technology is both legal and illegal depending on how people are using it.

BD has become a central part of the modern culture that provides all sorts of entertainment and advantage. People use it to record their memories and let others experience them. The analysis mode is an editing mode that lets players analyze the surroundings of a character. Players would be able to find clues while using BD. These clues would help them give important information. I feel like the BD is going to be a letdown. It might waste the time of players while they are investigating which can lead to frustration. Wall running won’t be a thing anymore as it was not suitable mechanics for the game. We can hope that they don’t kill all the hype.
