Everything about the game is focused on providing a light-hearted experience.
Graphics of Fortnite has been criticized by many but many like the game due to its graphics. The game is trying to present modern graphics through artistic style. Smartphone players, console players, and PC players play on the same servers. Developers had to compromise graphics so that everyone has a fair chance. Fortnite does not offer realistic graphics but rather cartoonish graphics
There are no weapon attachments in Fortnite but rather weapon tiers. An assault rifle would have a different tier which could change it from one assault rifle to another. Lack of attachments makes looting easier which isn’t the case with other battle royales. The game focuses on light-hearted experience and shield is part of that. You have to drink a blue liquid to get a shield. Building mechanics of the game makes it different than other battle royales.
