The Warlock Voidwalker build is a grenade-focused build that does a lot of damage. You need high discipline for grenade regeneration and high recovery for rift regeneration. Having 100 resilience can also help a lot. The second priority should be discipline and the third regeneration. The exotic for the Destiny 2 Voidwalker build should be Contraverse Hold. It is the main reason for gaining grenade energy so quickly.

Exotic Armor (Contraverse Hold)

Contraverse Hold is one of the best exotic for Warlock. It will refund grenade energy while also helping you gain more survivability. You will gain grenade energy depending on the number of enemies you damage with the grenade. Defeating enemies with a grenade will make the grenade regeneration even faster.

Killing three enemies with a grenade can instantly grant you grenade energy. Aspects, mods, and fragments will accelerate this process and increase the damage of grenades.


Mods will help you gain super quickly while also helping you regenerate ability energy.


You would need two Ashes to Assets mods on your helmet for super regeneration. Use any mod that you can on the helmet as the third one as the choice is up to you, If you have the energy then you can even use Hands-On or any other mod.

Ashes to Assets (3 Energy)

Ashes to Assets will allow you to gain super energy every time, you kill an enemy with a grenade. With enough kills, it can even help you gain max super energy in under three minutes. Ashes to Assets is one of the most important mods for the Destiny 2 Voidwalker build. It will turn your super into normal attacks. Depending on how many enemies you defeat you can get your super back in under three minutes.


Mods on your gauntlets will help you gain grenade energy even faster. These mods will also make orbs of power which you can pick up to charge other mods. Firepower, and Grenade Kickstart, should be mods on your gauntlets of Destiny 2 Voidwalker build.

Grenade Kickstart (3 Energy)

Use the Grenade Kickstart mod to reduce cooldown time on grenades even further. Grenade Kickstart will give grenade energy whenever you use a grenade. It will help you gain grenade energy even quicker. The more charges you have, the more grenade energy you will gain.

Firepower (3 Energy)

Defeating an enemy with a grenade will create an orb of power. Firepower will be one of the main sources for creating orbs of power. These orbs of powers will be used to recharge grenade ability through Grenade Kickstart.

Chest Armor

Chest armor is all about protection mod. Use Concussive Dampener and Melee Damage Resistance mods on the chest. If you have the energy then use the Sniper Damage Resistance mod as well. You can also use an ammo reserve mod if needed with Voidwalker Destiny 2 Build as the choice is up to you.

Concussive Dampener (3 Energy)

It will reduce the amount of AOE (area of effect damage) you take by 15%. You can even use two Concussive Dampener mods to decrease incoming damage by 25%.

Melee Damage Resistance or Charged Up (3 Energy)

If you are using one Melee Damage Resistance mod as well then it will decrease the melee damage you take by 15%.

You can also use Charged Up mod to increase the number of armor charges you can carry.


One of your mods should be Absolution, it will help with regeneration of abilities regeneration. The remaining two mods can be Better Already and Recuperation. You can also replace Better Already with Innervation for more grenade energy gain.

Recuperation (1 Energy)

It will grant you 70% HP every time you pick up an orb of power. Recuperation will heal you every time you pick up an orb of power which can be a lifesaver. It will work alongside Devour to provide optimum healing to Contraverse Hold build.

Better Already or Innervation (1 Energy)

Since Recuperation and Devour will provide more than enough healing, Better Already can be an overkill. Using Better Already will grant health regeneration every time you pick up an orb of power.

Innervation on the other hand will provide grenade energy every time you pick up an orb or power. Picking up an orb of power will grant 10% grenade energy. Using Innervation can be preferable if you feel like you have more than enough healing.

Absolution (3 Energy)

It will grant you all ability energy whenever you pick up an orb of power.

Warlock Bond

The mods on your Warlock Bond will not only help in making orbs of power but also grant grenade energy and ability energy. Use the Bomber, Reaper, and Distribution on your class armor.

Bomber (1 Energy)

Using Bomber mod on class armor will let you get grenade energy whenever you use class ability. Having a Bomber mod will help you gain grenade energy quickly when needed. Using class ability will grant you grenade energy with Bomber mod. Bomber mods will act as an extra source of getting grenade energy for the Destiny 2 Voidwalker build.

Distribution (3 Energy)

Distribution will grant all ability energy whenever you use class ability near enemies. It might not be viable in harder content but it might be good in any content below master. You can also use two bomber mods if you don’t have the energy for Distribution.

Reaper (3 Energy)

It will let you make an orb of power whenever you defeat an enemy with a weapon after using a rift. Reaper will be one of your main sources of creating orbs of power.

Void Subclass

The void subclass is an obvious choice since it is a Voidwalker build. Contraverse Hold will increase the amount of damage you do.


Axion Bolt grenades can be a good choice because they can easily damage enemies without aiming, unlike Vortex Grenades. Grenades will do more damage due to the chaos accelerant and will get refunded quickly due to Contraverse Hold.

For harder content, Vortex Grenade is a better choice. Vortex Grenade can do a lot more damage. All you have to do is throw it will keep on doing damage to all nearby enemies which will refund it back.


Class Ability

Healing rift is a good choice because it will grant you more survivability. You can also use empowering rift which will increase your weapon damage by 20%.

Aspects and Fragments

Contraverse Hold build uses aspects and fragments to help you do more damage while also increasing ability regeneration.


Devour will help you survive and grant you grenade energy. Chaos Accelerant will increase the amount of damage your grenades do.

Feed The Void

It is an important aspect of the Destiny 2 Voidwalker build. Every time you defeat an enemy with void abilities, it will activate Devour buff. While Devour is active, you will gain grenade energy and all of the health when you defeat an enemy. Feed The Void will help you a lot in survivability and grenade spamming. Defeating three enemies with a grenade can instantly grant you all grenade energy while Devour is active when using Contravese Hold.

Chaos Accelerant will let you charge the grenade making it do more damage. The Contravese Hold build will not work without Chaos Accelerant. It will increase the amount of damage your grenade does while also letting you take down more enemies with a single throw.

Enemies you defeat with void abilities will explode damaging nearby enemies. It will also grant +10 intellect.

The lingering duration of your grenades will have increased duration. Meaning your Vortex, Void Wall, Void Spike, and Axion Bolt will last for a longer duration. Grenades will make the target weaker while using Eco of Undermining. While targets are weakened they take more damage from different sources including grenades. Eco of Undermining will also give you a -20 discipline penalty.

It will increase the void buff applied to you such as Devour, Oversheild, and Invisibility. Eco of Persistence will increase survivability and grenade energy gain by increasing the time of Devour.

There is no requirement for a weapon as you can use any weapon you see fit. As long as you feel that a weapon is good then use it.

How to Use Destiny 2 Voidwalker Build?

Use all the armor pieces, mods, fragments, and aspects mentioned above. Once in combat, throw a charge grenade at enemies. Killing enemies with a grenade will activate Devour effect. Devour will remain active for 10 seconds. While Devour is active, defeating enemies will grant grenade energy as well as health. The more enemies you kill the more, you will regenerate the grenade and health. Damaging enemies will also grant grenade energy thanks to Contraverse Hold.
