Solar Hunter Build Destiny 2 (Unlimited Grenades and Melee)

Solar Hunter Build Destiny 2 (Unlimited Tripmines)

Solar Hunter Build Destiny 2 is one of the most powerful builds for the hunter. It has insane damage potential and can annihilate a large group of enemies. Hunters can now set everyone in the room on fire. Their ability to scorch and ignite during combat makes them good. The build lets you use unlimited knives, grenades, and class ability. The solar build lets you do large explosions. Destiny 2 Solar Hunter is one of the most DPS-intensive builds.

Stats for Solar Hunter Build Destiny 2

To make the Destiny 2 hunter solar build work, use armor pieces with high mobility and resilience. All the other stats are not that important except regeneration. Try to have tier 8 resilience as it will increase survivability a lot. Tier 8 mobility will reduce the class ability cooldown. Having high discipline can help but it is not important since you can regenerate grenades from Young Ahamkara’s Spine.

Exotic Piece (Young Ahamkara’s Spine)

The exotic piece that you use should be Young Ahamkara’s Spine. It will give you unlimited grenades.

Young Ahamkara’s Spine are exotic gauntlets that can give you unlimited grenades. It only works with Tripmines. If you equip any other type of grenade then it will not work. Young Ahamkara’s Spine will grant you Tripmine energy on all ability damage. You will get Tripmine ability energy even on the grenade damage while using Young Ahamkara’s Spine. Young Ahamkara’s Spine will get Tripmine energy from both melee ability damage and grenade damage. It will eliminate the need for high discipline but having high discipline won’t hurt.

Knock ‘Em Down will grant you unlimited melee. Gambler’s Dodge will give melee whenever you need it. So you will be taking down enemies with abilities all the time. Young Ahamkara’s Spine will also increase the efficiency of your Tripmines. Their duration and blast radius will increase which will let you do more damage.

Mods

Mods increase the efficiency of any build. They can increase ability regeneration, survivability, and damage.

Helmet

You need to use Ashes to Asset and Hands-On Mod on your helmet. Since you will always take down enemies with grenades and melee, these mods will help you gain super energy.

Ashes to Assets (3 Energy)

Killing an enemy with a grenade will grant super energy. Since you will be throwing Tripmines all the time. Ashes to Assets will activate if you end up killing an enemy with Tripmines. Use two Ashes to Assets to gain more super energy from grenade kills.

Hands-On (3 Energy)

Melee will also be one of your damage sources for solar Hunter build Destiny 2. You will end up killing enemies with some melee hits. Defeating an enemy with a powered melee will activate Hands-On which will grant super energy. Only use Hands-On if you have the energy for it.

Gauntlets

Your gauntlets are Young Ahamkara’s Spine and they can give you an insane amount of Tripmine energy. Use Impact Induction mod, Fire Power, and Heavy Handed. These mods will help in creating orbs of power and reduce grenade cooldown.

Impact Induction (2 Energy)

Impact Induction mod will decrease the cool-down time of grenade energy whenever you damage enemies with melee attacks. Since you will be damaging enemies with melee a lot, it will help you increase the cool-down time every time you do so. Impact Induction will work alongside Young Ahamkara’s Spine to provide more grenade energy. Impact Induction can be overkill due to the insane amount of grenade energy that you get from Young Ahamkara’s Spine.

Firepower (3 Energy)

Firepower will make an orb of power every time you defeat an enemy with a grenade. Other mods will use these orbs of power for ability spam and damage. Only use it if you have the energy for it.

Heavy Handed (3 Energy)

With Heavy Handed, you will create an orb of power every time you defeat an enemy with a powered melee attack. Since you will be using a lot of melee attacks, you will end up creating multiple orbs of power.

Chest Armor

There is no requirement for mods on chest armor for Destiny 2 Solar Hunter build. However, if you want to add extra protection then use the Emergency Reinforcement mod and Concussive Dampener mod.

Emergency Reinforcement

When you are charged with light and your shield runs out, Emergency Reinforcement will grant damage resistance. It can save you in intense situations but it is not necessary as you can use any other mod you see fit.

Concussive Dampener

Concussive Dampener will reduce the amount of splash damage you take.  You can also use Melee Damage Resistance, Sniper Damage Resistance, or any other Damage Resistance mod.

Boots

You need to use mods that help heal and grant ability energy. Use Recuperation and Better Already mods to heal yourself by picking up orbs of power. The third mod should be Absolution.

Recuperation (1 Energy)

It will grant health every time you pick up an orb of power. Recuperation will provide an instant burst of health which can help a lot in survival.

Better Already (1 Energy)

Using Better Already will also help in survival. While using Better Already, your health will immediately begin to regenerate as soon as you pick up an orb of power.

Absolution (3 Energy)

It will grant all ability energy, every time you pick up an orb of power. Absolution will reduce the cool-down time of all abilities just by picking up a single orb of power.

Class Armor (Hunter Cloak)

Mods on class armor can be used to get abilities by using the class ability. Destiny 2 Solar Hunter build uses the class armor to regenerate other abilities. Use a Bomber mod, a Distribution mod, and a Reaper mod.

Bomber (1 Energy)

Using class ability while Bomber mod is equipped will grant grenade energy. Dodging for melee will also grant some of the grenade energy.

Distribution (3 Energy)

Distribution will grant all ability energy when you use class ability near enemies. Since you will be dodging near enemies all the time Distribution will activate every time.

Reaper (3 Energy)

Defeating an enemy with a weapon will drop an orb of power. Other mods these orbs to regenerate abilities and activate different functionalities.

Solar Subclass

The solar sub-class is an obvious choice for the hunter solar build. It uses solar fragments, aspects, and abilities to do damage to enemies.

Destiny 2 Hunter Solar Young Ahamkara's Spine

Grenades

Your grenades should be Tripmine as the Young Ahamkara’s Spine can grant you unlimited Tripmines. Destiny 2 hunter solar build will not work without Tripmine grenades.

Melee

You can use either Knife Trick melee or Proximity Explosive Knife. Proximity Explosive Knife counts as two hits while Knife Trick melee counts as three hits. Proximity Explosive Knife will only count as two hits on direct impact and one hit on indirect impact. Knife Trick will give you more energy. Knife Trick melee is a better choice because it counts as three. It also scorches enemies upon impact. Knife Trick can even ignite enemies which does a lot of damage. Scorching enemies will also grant class ability energy thanks to Ember of Singeing.

Destiny 2 Hunter Knife Trick Melee

Class Ability

Use Gambler’s Dodge as it will allow you to get your melee ability back quickly. All you have to do is dodge near enemies and you will gain melee back. You can use it to gain melee ability if you run out of melee energy.

Super

The use of super is up to you but I will take Blade Barrage any day over Golden Gun. Blade Barrage is one of the most DPS-intensive super. It lets you do a large amount of damage in a single shot. Blade Barrage is good for boss damage. Golden is better for PVP if you are a good PVP player. Blade Barrage does not make you vulnerable while using it, unlike Golden Gun. In the end, the choice is up to you.

Aspects and Fragments

Aspects and Fragments have a major impact on the performance of a build. They can change how a build performs. The solar hunter build Destiny 2 uses aspects and fragments to do massive damage to enemies.

Aspects

The aspects that you are supposed to use with the solar hunter build include Knock ‘Em Down and Gunpowder Gamble. Gunpowder Gamble is all about grenade damage while Knock ‘Em Down is all about melee energy.

Knock ‘Em Down

Knock ‘Em Down will make your super more efficient or damaging. Both Golden Gun supers do not get any damage buff and only increase their efficiency while you are using them. Blade Barrage gets a damage buff which makes it powerful. You will launch more projectiles which results in more damage.

The second advantage that Knock ‘Em Down provides is really important for Destiny 2 Hunter solar build. Defeating enemies while you are radiant will give you melee ability back. You will become radiant as soon as you hit an enemy with melee ability thanks to Ember of Torches. So, you will get the melee back as soon as you kill an enemy with melee. As long as you are defeating enemies with melee you will never run out of melee ability. Gambler’s Dodge can restore your melee if you ever run out of it.

Destiny 2 Hunter Knock ‘Em Down

Gunpowder Gamble

Defeating enemies with solar abilities, solar weapons, or while radiant will charge up a solar explosive bomb that will cause ignition upon explosion. It will cause a major explosion that can cause massive damage. You can throw it with the grenade button but it does not use grenade energy. So you can just throw this improvised explosive and throw a Tripmine soon after that. It can do major damage to enemies. Gunpowder Gamble is one of the major sources of damage for solar hunter build Destiny 2.

Fragments

Fragments will work hand in hand with your aspect and abilities to make them better.

Ember of Ashes

You will apply more scorch stacks with Ember of Ashes. Applying scorch stacks is important because it leads to ignitions. With Ember of Ashes, all you have to do is use a Knife Trick melee and then use Tripmine to ignite the enemy. It will let you hit enemies with three major damage sources. Ignitions will also help with recharging Tripmines because it counts as ability damage.

Destiny 2 Hunter Ember of Ashes

Ember of Torches

Damaging enemies with melee ability will make you and your nearby teammates radiant. While radiant, your weapons will do 25% more damage. Ember of Torches will work with Knock ‘Em Down to grant melee ability. Ember of Torches will make you radiant which will help you gain melee ability back. It will act as an extra source of damage for the Destiny 2 solar hunter build.

Destiny 2 Hunter Ember of Torches

Ember of Singeing

Applying scorch to enemies will increase your class ability regeneration. You will be applying scorch all the time so it will help with class ability regeneration.

Destiny 2 Hunter Ember of Singeing

Ember of Resolve

Grenade final blows will cure you. Meaning that defeating an enemy with a grenade will grant health. Each kill will grant 40% of the heath. Defeating multiple enemies with a single grenade can even increase the health gained. Since you will be defeating a lot of enemies with Tripmines, Ember of Resolve will serve as a major source of healing.

Destiny 2 Hunter Ember of Resolve

Weapons

You can use any weapon with solar hunter build Destiny 2. However, using a solar weapon that has an Incandescent trait or a weapon that can scorch enemies will make it more efficient. When you defeat the target, the incandescent trait will apply scorch to nearby enemies.

How to Use Destiny 2 Solar Hunter Build?

Use all the exotic pieces, mods, abilities, aspects, and fragments described above. Once your build is ready, go into the combat. Just keep on using abilities or solar weapons. All you have to do is keep on damaging the enemies with melee ability and grenades to get Tripmines. Damaging an enemy with a single melee ability and Tripmine will instantly give you grenade energy back. Defeating enemies with solar abilities or weapons will ready up the Improvised Explosion. The cycle will keep on repeating, letting you destroy enemies with the solar hunter Destiny 2 build.
