What if you can make a build with insane survivability, damage, and crowd control? That’s exactly what Destiny 2 Hunter Stasis Build is about. The stasis sub-class on all types of guardians is focused on crowd control but this stasis build takes it to another level. Not only will you have insane survivability but a high amount of damage as well. You will be able to trap enemies in the bubble of ice, leaving them vulnerable to attacks. Enemies will be frozen all around you thanks to the crowd control of Destiny 2 Hunter Stasis Build. It truly turns you into a stasis warrior that rains hell on its foes.
Stats for Destiny 2 Hunter Stasis Build
The most important stat for the Stasis Hunter build is discipline as it will reduce the cooldown time of your grenades. Having more grenades will enable you to freeze enemies all around you through grenade. The more grenades you throw, the more control you will have on the battlefield. Using grenades will also enable you to do more damage and decrease the incoming damage.
Resilience and mobility are the second most important stats for the Destiny 2 Hunter Stasis build. Try to have high resilience and mobility. The higher your resilience, the more will be your survivability. Mobility will reduce the cooldown time of your class ability while also giving you more maneuverability. You can prefer either one of them over the other. I prefer max resilience over mobility.
Exotic Armor (Renewal Grasps)
Renewal Grasps are exotic gauntlets for Hunter that have the Depths of Duskfield trait. It increases the radius of your Duskfield grenades. You and your allies standing inside the radius will take less damage while enemies inside it will do less damage. While using Renewal Grasps with the Touch of Winter aspect, the size of the crystal will also increase. So as long as you stay in Duskfield grenade radius, trapping enemies in it or doing both, you will be walking tank.
All you have to do is throw a Duskfield grenade at enemies. Once enemies are trapped with you in Duskfield grenade you can absolutely wreck them. Renewal Grasps gives your grenades a lot more power. Defeating frozen and slowed enemies will create shards which will increase the weapon damage through different mods. Damage resistance from Renewal Grasp will harmnize with fragments which makes it even more powerful.
Weapon
Use any weapon you see fit, there is no requirement for the use of a specific weapon. However, using Ager’s Scepter can be a good choice as it offers more ad control. You can also use any other exotic stasis weapon as they can harmonize with the Destiny 2 Hunter Stasis build.
Mods
Different mods increase the damage output, helps with ability regeneration, and survivability.
Helmet
Helmet mods will grant you super energy and you can also use ammo finder mods to find more ammo.
Dynamo (3 Energy)
Dodging near an enemy will give you super energy. Using Dynamo will enable you to gain super energy just by using class ability.
Hands-On or Ammo Finder Mod (3 Energy)
Using Hands-On will enable you to gain super energy whenever you defeat an enemy with melee.
You can also use Ammo Finder mods to gain special or heavy ammo depending on the weapon you are using.
Gauntlets
Mods on gauntlets will reduce cooldown time when you do damage and create orbs of power. Firepower does not work with Duskfield grenades so we are not using that with Destiny 2 Hunter stasis build.
Heavy Handed (3 Energy)
Defeating an enemy with melee damage will spawn an orb of power. You can pick up the orb of power to gain armor charge and other mods will use the armor charges to increase the damage.
Impact Induction (2 Energy)
Damaging an enemy with a melee attack will grant you grenade energy. Since you will be using a lot of melee attacks, Impact Induction will help in gaining grenade energy.
Focusing Strike or Bolstering Detonation (2 Energy)
Focusing Strike grants you class ability energy whenever you damage an enemy with melee ability. It will keep your class ability full which you can use to gain melee energy through Gambler’s Dodge.
You can also use Bolstering Detonation. It will give you class ability energy whenever you damage an enemy with a grenade.
You can use either Focusing Strike or Bolstering Detonation as the choice is up to you as long as you have the energy for it.
Chest Armor
The choice of chest armor mod is up to you. However, if you want more armor charges then you can use Charged Up.
Boots
Mods on boots give you armor charges and help with survivability.
Elemental Charge (3 Energy)
Collecting an element of a subclass has a chance of giving you an armor charge. Destiny 2 hunter stasis build uses the stasis subclass, so you will have a chance of gaining an armor charge whenever you collect a stasis shard.
Weapon Surge Mods (3 Energy)
Having armor charges will grant you increased weapon damage. Use Weapon surge mods according to the weapon that you are using. You will do more damage to enemies when you have an armor charge. Your armor charges will decay over time but other mods will increase the timing of this decay.
Recuperation (1 Energy)
Picking up an orb of power will heal you. Only use Recuperation if you have the energy for it. Stasis shards will give you enough survivability that you won’t need it.
Class Item (Hunter Cloak)
Cloak mods increase the time of your decaying armor charges among other things.
Time Dilation (3 Energy)
Your decaying armor charge will have increased duration. Since your armor charge will decay over time due to the weapon surge mod, Time Dilation will increase its time. The default time is 10 seconds and the Time Dilation mod will increase it to 15 seconds. It will increase the uptime of your weapon damage for the Destiny 2 hunter stasis build.
Reaper (3 Energy)
Defeating an enemy with weapon damage after using class ability will create an orb of power. So every time you dodge, you will create an orb of power with a weapon kill.
Bomber (2 Energy)
Using class ability will give you grenade energy. So every time you dodge, you will gain grenade energy. Only use Bomber mod if you have the energy for it.
Subclass
Destiny 2 Hunter Stasis build uses the Revenant subclass to do damage. It enables you to freeze enemies, reduce their damage, and wreck them.
Class Ability
Gambler’s Dodge is the way to go with the Stasis Hunter build. Every time you dodge near enemies it will give you your melee back. Revenant Hunter has two melees so you can use a combination of Gambler’s Dodge and stasis shards to keep a constant uptime on your melee.
Melee
There is only one melee option so use the Withering blade to do damage from distance. You will have two melee charges.
Grenade
Duskfield Grenade should be used with the Destiny 2 Hunter Stasis build. It is a stasis grenade that creates a stasis area of effect. Enemies inside the Duskfield Grenade radius are slowed which can lead to the freezing of enemies inside it. The Touch of Winter aspect will increase its area of effect and create a stasis crystal in the center. Renewal Grasps will make its area of effect even bigger and it will also increase the size of its crystal. Duskfield Grenade will be your ultimate weapon to shatter and freeze enemies.
Aspects
The two aspects will make your grenades more powerful and will also create stasis shards when you defeat frozen or slowed enemies. Aspects will combine with mods and fragments to increase the damage and overall efficiency of the Destiny 2 Hunter Stasis build.
Touch of Winter
Your grenades will have enhanced capabilities. Duskfield Grenade should be your focus as the other grenades don’t matter with Stasis Hunter build.
Glacier Grenade: Adds a stasis crystal and changes its formation as per the requirement.
Coldnsap Grenade: Create a stasis crystal upon impact and the seeker from it chains one additional time.
Duskfield Grenade: Increase the size of its slow field and create a small crystal in the middle of it. Renewal Grasp will make the size of a slow field even bigger and will increase the size of the stasis crystal that is in the middle of it.
Grim Harvest
Defeating a slowed or frozen target will create stasis shards. Picking up stasis shards will grant you melee energy. Destiny 2 hunter stasis build uses Elemental Charge mod to gain armor charges through the collection of stasis shards. Fragments will make it even easier to collect these stasis shards.
Fragments
All the fragments make the collection of stasis shards easier. Collecting stasis shards will grant overshield and help in healing. They will increase the overall damage output and survivability of the stasis hunter build.
Whisper of Chains
When you are near a frozen enemy or a stasis crystal, you will take less damage. There will be a lot of frozen enemies around you so when you are near them you will take less damage. There will also be a crystal in the middle of your Duskfield grenade.
The resistance from crystal or frozen enemies inside Duskfield grenade will stack with the resistance of Renewal Grasps which will turn you into a tank. There will be a lot of frozen enemies around you so Whisper of Chains will remain active most of the time while using Destiny 2 hunter stasis build. Whisper of Chains will also give you a +10 recovery.
Whisper of Durance
The slow effect from all your abilities and other sources will last for a longer duration. The time of lingering abilities will also increase. Whisper of Durance is important because it will increase the duration of the Duskfield grenade since it is a lingering ability. It will also give you +10 strength.
Whisper of Shards
Whisper of Shards is an important part of Destiny 2 Hunter Stasis build. Breaking a stasis crystal will increase your grenade regeneration for 6 seconds. There is a crystal in the middle of your Duskfield grenade. You can break that crystal to activate Whisper of Shards. It will also give you +10 resilience.
Whisper of Rime
Collecting a stasis crystal will give you a small amount of overshield that will last for 10 seconds. Collecting more stasis shards will reset the timer and add more overshield. When your health is not full, collecting stasis shards will heal you.
Whisper of Conduction
Stasis shards near you will track to your position and get collected. Whisper of Conduction will make it easier to collect stasis shards so you don’t have to run after them. It will also give you +10 resilience and +10 intellect.
How to Use Destiny 2 Stasis Hunter Build?
Use all the mods, exotic pieces, abilities, aspects, and fragments mentioned above. The loop of the gameplay for the Destiny 2 Hunter Stasis build is pretty simple. Throw a grenade toward enemies to trap them inside the Duskfield. When you are inside the Duskfield with enemies they will do less damage and you will do more damage. You can destroy the enemies trapped inside. In harder content, when you can’t get close to enemies, you can throw a grenade in front of you to stay inside it and take less damage. Duskfield grenade freezes enemies so it is usually easy to get close to them. You will wreak havoc on the enemies and destroy them with Renewal Grasps build.
